At a Glance
Rock and Roll was danced by the teen agers in 1950. It’s a mixed form of Jitterbug, Swing and Lindy hop. Though many people presently use the term ‘Rock and Roll’ as ‘free style dancing’ but the Europeans used it for a particular style of ‘swing dance’. Mostly the Swing dancers used to dance ‘West Coast Swing’ and ‘East Coast Swing’ or ‘Lindy’ giving the new name - ‘Rock and Roll’ . Later many acrobatic dance figures and gymnastics were introduced in Rock and Roll.
